Curriculum

Our curriculum is based around learning skills. Where possible, subjects are taught through topics chosen by staff to match the children’s interests and their learning needs. This will often be linked to a book which is studied in Literacy. The result is a broad and balanced curriculum where children develop skills and learn how to learn as well as acquiring knowledge, interpersonal skills and positive attitudes of themselves and others.

Curriculum vision

Rationale

As a Church of England school, we believe that education should enable children and families to live “life in all its fullness” (John 10: 10) both now and in the future. To this end we have based our curriculum vision on the model of the Church of England in the document ‘Deeply Christian, Serving the Common Good’ published in autumn 2016.

Our vision

CurriculumOur curriculum is rooted in Christian values, demonstrating the love of Jesus. We will work to ensure our curriculum is high quality, active, engaging, relevant, purposeful, varied, and responsive while ensuring every child has opportunities to achieve and be successful.
