DWAEC Visit for Years 1, 2 & Reception

On Thursday, 18th June, Years 1, 2 and Reception had a very special visitor  – Stephen and Lottie from DWAEC!

The children had an amazing morning meeting an array of animals such as milk snakes, a python, barn owls, a desert hedgehog, a tenrec, a genet, kookaburras (including 3-week-old chicks), tarantulas (including a spiderling), and a baby meerkat, to name a few.

They enjoyed learning lots of fun and interesting facts about the animals, such as where in the world they originate from and what they eat.......did you know snakes can’t hear!?

We were very proud of the children for their excellent listening skills during the sessions and how they took great care when handling the animals.

A huge thank you to Stephen and Lottie from DWAEC for such a fun and informative morning.

Overall, it really was an amazing morning for Key Stage 1, and we can’t wait to welcome Stephen and the DWAEC team back to St George’s next academic year!

Please see below some photographs from the morning - we hope you enjoy them!
